Mexico, Laguna de Terminos

Laguna de Terminos is the largest tidal lagoon located on the east coast of Mexico. About 30% of the lagoon is covered with seagrass and was designated as a federally protected area by the Mexican government in 1994. The 100 m image of 1 February 2015 shows the lagoon in its entirity. In the lower-left part of the image, the meandering Rio Grijalva is visible.
