Multitemp is the bi-annual conference that aims to advance the knowledge on the use of Earth Observation time series, such as the historical records provided by SPOT-VEGETATION and PROBA-V. The Belgian Science Policy Office (BELSPO) and VITO are proud to be the local organizer of Multitemp 2017, to take place in Bruges, Belgium this week (27-29 June). By focussing on methodological improvements, Multitemp welcomes and encourages the cross-fertilization between application domains like climate, biodiversity and ecosystems, forestry, water and coastal management.
Those application domains are particularly relevant in the protection of the extensive wilderness of the Florida Everglades, displayed in this PROBA-V image from early May 2017. The southern 20% of the original Everglades are a national park and one of only three locations in the world that are recognized, simultaneously, as International Biosphere Reserve, World Heritage Site (UNESCO) and Wetland of International Importance (RAMSAR).
