Calbuco volcano, Chile

Above we show a 300 m image taken at April 24th, 2015, two days after the eruption of the Calbuco volcano (2,015 m altitude) in southern Chile. The eruption caused lava flows into a nearby lake, as well as an ash plume - clearly visible in the centre of the image - that rose to an altitude of ~10 kilometres.
