Typhoon Talim begun its sharp northeast turn toward Japan with a threat of high winds and flooding rainfall after lashing the Ryukyu Islands.
Talim is currently the equivalent of a Category 2 intensity typhoon in the East China Sea, and is now making the anticipated dogleg right turn.
Next up, Talim will accelerate and plow into Kyushu, Japan late Saturday night or early Sunday morning, local time, then quickly sweep over Shikoku and western Honshu through Sunday night, before the remnant, still intense extratropical low swipes the northernmost main island of Hokkaido Monday.
