The 100 m false-colour image of 2 January 2017 shows us Al Ahsa, the largest governorate in Saudi Arabia's Eastern Province, named after the Al-Ahsa oasis, a traditional oasis region in eastern Saudi Arabia and one of the largest oases in the world.
Ahsa means the sound of water underground referring to the springs and freshwater sources in the Al-Hasa oasis.
In the right part of the image we spot Umm al Samim, an area of quicksand on the eastern edge of the Rub al-Khali. It is a salt marsh with a solid-looking crust but can be very treacherous when broken through.
