The 100 m false-colour image of 14 February 2017 shows us from north to south the city of Putian, Quanzhou, Xiamen, Zhangzhou and Taiwan to the east, on the other side of the Taiwan Strait in Fujian Province, China.
Quanzhou, is Fujian's largest metropolitan region, with an area of 11,245 km² and was China's major port for foreign traders during the 11th through 14th centuries.
Quanzhou proper lies on a spit of land between the estuaries of the Jin and Luo rivers as they flow into Quanzhou Bay on the Taiwan Strait. Its surrounding prefecture extends west halfway across the province and is hilly and mountainous.
